For Allies

Who is ‘Ally’?

You are not stateless, but you want to do something to improve the situation of stateless people? Then you are an ally.

Allies are anyone who stands attentively and in solidarity with people affected by discrimination. Even if you are not stateless yourself, you can make a big difference through commitment, education, and support. Together, we can make the lived realities of stateless people visible and bring about change.

How do I become an ally?

Anyone can be an ally! Whether as an individual or as part of an organization, club, or group of friends. What does it take? Primarily openness, empathy, and a willingness to listen. We all bring different strengths and abilities. Depending on how much time you have and what resources are available to you, you can get involved in a way that suits you best. Even small gestures can make a big difference.

Donation

Our commitment to stateless people costs money. Any support helps. With your donation, you enable direct aid, our work at Statefree, and long-term change. We regularly launch creative initiatives: for example, with a merch collaboration, where our community can buy sweaters with donations, which then go to stateless individuals.

For journalists

Statelessness affects over 123,500 people in Germany – yet it often remains invisible. With your reporting, you can help bring this issue into public awareness. We support you with experiences, facts, and contacts from our community. Together, we ensure that voices that are otherwise overlooked are heard.

For researchers

Are you researching statelessness, migration, or belonging? Then we want to collaborate with you. Statefree incorporates community perspectives and provides access to experiences often missing in studies. Together, we can make research more practice-oriented and develop results that truly have an impact.

For counseling centers

Do you support people with questions about residence permits, naturalization, or identity? Then you are important partners for us, and we for you. Many stateless individuals end up with you first – together, we can ensure they receive the right support. Statefree offers knowledge, exchange, and networking to make counseling work even more effective.
